Exciting News!

We have some very exciting news to share with you in regards to our fundraising efforts.  Our home church shared with us their desire to use the Month of February to help us potentially raise a significant portion of our remaining funds.  Starting on Feb 8th, 2009, Hope Church will begin a three-week process of matching funds 2:1 up to 50% of our total budget!  This is an incredible opportunity for us to make substantial progress in securing our remaining funds. We are hoping to make this our last big endeavor that takes us to our final goal of being 100% funded.  With only a few months left, we hope to be fully funded before we leave for our cross-cultural training in April.  (More on that in the next blog to come!)

We let many people know about the matching fund campaign through our latest newsletter and an announcement to our congregation at Hope Church this past Sunday.  We have been overwhelmed by the response we have received by the people of Hope church and so many of our friends and family.  We even received support from some people that we do not even know!  Already, we have seen a huge jump in our fundraising numbers!  Our outbound budget went from 44% to 51% and our monthly budget went from 43% to 54%!  We are over the half way mark!  

We can't thank everyone enough for their generosity and all of their kind and encouraging words.  So many of you have expressed that you are praying for us.  It is an amazing feeling to know so many are lifting us up in prayer.
